These results are a combination of factors that can result in the stern tube or bearing damage. Due to this breakdown, the vessel would leave the Charter status or lose loads to be transported, and a bad reputation for the company.

The type of boat does not matter; It is possible to have these problems if the vessel is a commercial maritime cargo vessel, a passenger vessel, or a Maga Yacht vessel.

But the common factor is human error in many ways.

Failures such as misalignment between components, over temperatures such as system overload, and incorrect interventions or procedures of the maintenance plan by the companies or crew on board are the most common factors in these problems.

Following maintenance plans and factory specifications are critical to avoiding horn and bearing failure.

If the horn uses EAL lubricating oil, lubricating oil samples must be sent for analysis to reliable and certified laboratories.

This analysis gives us an internal condition on the percentage of materials found in the oil.

Alignment of components by companies certified by the Class Society.

This is one of the most important procedures. The Class of the vessel must be aware of the readings taken by the certified company, and the Class must approve if we need to correct any of the component positions in the propulsion line.
